Child protection, foster, and adoption service providers, as well as judges, are required by Bill 89 to take a child’s ″race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, citizenship, family diversity, disability, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression″ into account and respect the child’s identity.
